Does this sound like over watering?

    Hello all,
I have two plants on a NFT table 4ftx2ft,in large rockwool cubes. The pump moves 150L/H and is on constant as this is what ive read.Is this too much? I ask because the bottom leaves have started to get brown spots, gone soft and look wilted, some of the new growth also looks twisted. The plants have been on the tray 16 days on 18/6,being fed canna vega A+B at 1100ppm adding h2o2 every 3 days at a rate of 1ml per litre.600watt hps, fans blowing through and over the tops of the plants.I shall be adding more nutes today as ive just done a 24hr flush because they were showing slight nute burn on the tips of the leaves.I will post pics later today hopefully.I hope this makes sense as Im not with it this morning. Thanks,RM

pICCIES!!!!! your description is very detailed, but a pic always helps to define the problem.

if its overwatering, the problem will start from the base of the plant and move upwards and will act the exact same as if you were to stop watering it

What do the roots look like?
I'd say that there is a good chance you're overwatering. But I have other questions.
    Couple things-
-What is the pH of the runoff?
-Are you aerating your nute solution?
I have not grown in RW blocks but I want to say that your water application sounds excessive. I hope someone who is a RW grower will chime in.

Thanks stinky. The brown spots seem to be subsiding,as ive put a smaller outlet pipe on the pump, but now it seems that I have a mg/cal problem due to lock out maybe because of low ph5.4/5.5(I read that both mg/cal are absorbed better at a higher ph(5.8) so im bringing it up to that.My roots look fine(white, lots of).Yes I do have airation in my res,and I add h2o2 every 3 days.Ive still got a few limp lower leaves and the deficiency,is on the upper parts of the plants, hope this helps diagnostics.whats the best way to deal with this?Sorry for the crap pictures.Thanks,RM.

    Ahh nice.
I was expecting far worse. Those plants look reasonably healthy, just a little droop I can see in the background, but otherwise nice.
Sounds like you actually have this under control already, decreasing flow and raising pH. I try to keep my hydro pH between 5.8-6.0. Remember though that I'm a total noob too when it comes to playing in the water, lol!
Last Q, you don't have to answer, are you using RO or tap for source water, and are you adding CalMag? If you are using RO you really need to.

Nah tap water, which is a happy 6.9 out of the tap and has between 280 and420ppm.No im not using calmag at the moment I read some where, its better to fix by flushing and adjusting rather than dosing up with calmag?

A lot of the ppms you get off tap water will in fact come from calcium and Mg; calmag is needed when you go RO to replace the lost minerals. You probably just had a lockout from your pH rather than a deficiency. You'll know shortly if the problem stops spreading.

doesnt even look like a problem. could have been a few extra nuts got sucked in one day.

itll be a niceplant i imagine.

any major plusses in this hydro vs i in soil ( i assume youv done it in soil before)

Thanks klondike, pros n cons? Now I sorta got my head round it,Id say hydro, its soooo much easier to monitor and adjust-downside, is that you have to have the right equiptment as opposed to a bag of compost and a few pots.I have two in soil at the moment, and they dont look as happy as my hydro 2,so yeah, hydro`s the way forward for me now.
