Ever been chased by a spotlight?

I posted this story in another thread but wanted to post it again as a question. Have you ever been chased by a spotlight? Did you get away?

Here's the story:

This was a long, long, long time ago when I first started getting high. A friend and I went to the Laserium show at the Space Theater in Balboa Park in San Diego (Do they still even have that? Crazy laser show set to trippy music like Pink Floyd? Like I said, a long time ago). Anyway, the parking lot was on the edge of this little canyon, so we decided to go about halfway down the slope, where no one in the parking lot could see, and smoke.

We are starting to get high, and this car starts driving though the canyon. We didn't know there was a little road along the bottom. When the car is right below us, maybe 50 yards downslope, we realize it's a cop and totally panic! We're running around in circles! Tripping over stuff in the dark! We crash into each other, spill the bong, and then lose it in the dark! Forget about the bong! Run up the hill to the top!

Then we realize the cop never even slowed down and just continued up the canyon. So now we feel like idiots and go back down the slope and look around for all the shit we just abandoned. We have to search with our lighters while we are really high because it is so dark.

Finally we find all our stuff and sit down for another bowl. We get just absolutely blazed and are just sitting there, not really paying much attention to what is going on around us. All of a sudden, without either of us noticing, the cop car is back right below us and BAM, flips on a spotlight! It's sweeping back and forth along the slope near the bottom working it's way up! We turn around and start running for the top! The light keeps sweeping closer and closer, but the top of the hill just keeps seeming further and further away! Finally, just as we get to the very top, the light hits us! It's like a frozen moment in time caught in this blazing bright spotlight right at the very top of the hill! But it is too late for the cop, we just keep running into the parking lot. He's way the hell down in the canyon, still in his car. We just stash our shit in the car and go into the show.

Seems like a lot of wierd shit happened going to the Laserium show back then. Every time it was wierd.

Not really 'chased' but I totally know what you mean when that light does hit you. Its like BAM. DENIED. DEAD. DONE DEAL. FRIED.

The only time I wasnt screwed was a drunk bike ride home. It was really weird. My friend had an apartment 2 streets down from me. So I would get wasted and ride home. Easy.

So as im headin home almost 3 in the mornin I hear this real loud revving of an engine sounding real nice. But im thinkin whoever it is, is a dumbass at this time of night. I hear him come from out west into town but think whatever, as said thats his dumbass fault if he gets caught.

But I get onto my street. A car passes me and then I realize theres another car behind me. I had my hoody on and I didnt really feel like lookin back so I strolled on.

Believe it or not, I actually thought in my head "Its probably a cop" but realisticly realized im just really drunk and stoned and my suspicion of the man was out of order.

But outa knowhere that magical light that I thought mayby god was about to talk to me, was a spotlight. I almost fell off my bike its like it hit me!

The cop stopped me and asked where I lived blah blah. Then asked if I heard the car I was talkin about. My best to not slur or fall over on my bike whilst standing still I said I heard the car go far the fuck away from me. He said have a good night and I went home..

Wow what a long story this turned out to be.

Ive been chased by one alnog a river bank. I was at a party along time ago and sometime cop boats patrol the rive. We were halway through the party when bam a spotlight turns on , everyone starts to run and scramble lol I also know what you mean when it hits u u just stop lol it turns out the one on us was from a barge messing around

Ha, great story! Sounds like they must've been trying to scare you!

I'm in San Diego now, but was "spotted" in Oregon by a helicoptor when I was cutting through a school yard. Feeling paranoid, and having watched too much television, I panicked about getting shot, and just froze. Probablly a good thing though, as they spent a second or two spotting me, before just moving away. -Guess I wasn't what they were looking for after all! I still don't know what they were looking for.

one time i was smoking in my front yard at 1 or 2 in the morning... all of a sudden the area all around me lit up. I looked up and there was a helicopter hovering over me with the light right on me... i froze and 3-4 seconds later the light went off and the chopper flew away... i still wonder to this day what that was all about...

I once got spotlighted by a police helicopter and it is one of the craziest thing ever. Me and my friends were getting real cained in a field on the edge of town and watching a police helicopter in the distance. Then someone said the police were here and me and my really stoned friend got paranoid and ran really fast into a woods like a 5 minute run away. Then we waited a while and went back up.

When we were halfway across the field the police helicopter shone its light on us. We just stopped dead and just whispered to eachother "WTF do we do?!?!" Then it just moved on and we stopped panicing.

I know you mean buy getting spotlighted. Escecially from a helicopter from above.

Earlier in the year everyone was TPing our highschool, I was pretty baked at the time, and thought it was a good idea to join in the festivities, even though last year 10 or so people got arrested for vandalism. So everyone got out the toilet paper out of the huge, 40 gallon, black garbage bags and started the fun. All of a sudden, I hear someone yell "5 O, 5 O!!!" So everyone books it off into the surrounding woods and backyards of people's homes. 5 minutes later, we finally come to realize that it was a false alarm, so everyone jets back to the crime scene and continues the "vandalism." Then in the distance we see the red and blue flashing, and they are driving right on the fields for football, soccer, ect. Everyone frantically runs away into peoples' yards, while more cops shine their spotlights. I was running in the front of someone's yard, headed for the base of operations, while a cop flies around the corner with his spot light. High and paranoid, I dive over some bushes onto a bunch of pointy ass mulch. The cop continued driving, and all was safe for the time being. So I eventually found some of the buddies I was hanging with before, we group together to find the chick's house where it was safe. Sneaking around the neighborhood, I peaked over a little ridge to see if the coast was clear to book it across the street into the house, then I'm glowing like the moon, with the spotlight right on my chest. I was petrified for a second, then just decided to book it into the backyard of the house and sneak through the backdoor. That night there was about 50 people going in and out of that house, and the cops knocked on the door several times, but the parents were chill about it and kept all the kids safe

this isn't the same thing, but one time me and my friends were rollin a j in a parking lot somewhere and this cop on a bike cruises right by our car. I almost shit my pants. Needless to say we finished rollin it then when somewhere else to smoke. I dont know how we didn't see him

i was at this party by this pond some kids were having in the pitch black. cops dove by earlier and everyone ran, then me and about 5 friends walk back there an hour later to get the beer everyone left. so we were sitting there drinking and the cops come back. so their shinning the spot light and we all scatter. a couple of my friends ran through back yards, others hid behind trees, i just laid flat on the ground behind a bush. i saw the light searching for us and it shined right 2 feet away from my head. then he just drove away so we finished drinking and smoked a 3g celebration blunt.
