Help me quit - im screwin up bad

Here's some good advice I once got if you're trying to give up anything..
Instead of saying something like '"I'm not gonna smoke for a week", try just saying to your self "just one day" or "Just one hour" or "Just one" anything, you know? It helps to break it down aye, if you just keep telling yourself just one more hour with no weed, then when the hours gone say it again.. Its a lot easier then saying your gonna go the whole day without bud.

There is a Marijuana Anonymous but it's totally ridiculous in my opinion. Here are the 12 steps:
The practice of rigorous honesty, of opening our hearts and minds, and the willingness to go to any lengths to have a spiritual awakening are essential to our recovery.

Our old ideas and ways of life no longer work for us. Our suffering shows us that we need to let go absolutely. We surrender ourselves to a Power greater than ourselves.

Here are the steps we take which are suggested for recovery:

    1. We admitted we were powerless over marijuana, that our lives had become unmanageable.
    2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.
    3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God, as we understood God.
    4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
    5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
    6. Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
    7. Humbly asked God to remove our shortcomings.
    8. Made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
    9. Made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
    10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong, promptly admitted it.
    11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understood God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry that out.
    12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to marijuana addicts and to practice these principles in all our affairs.

how about you just stop, its really not that hard, just dont do it, the only way to overcome any addiction is to convince yourself that you dont want/need it

haha, that really is some ironic steps to "trick" someone into believing in god. Basically they are saying that you're controlled by a higher power (weed) and you need to quit it to be controlled by another higher power (God). Doesn't sound very logical. I know people that have God addictions, which really hurts them socially b/c very few people can tolerate someone who constantly judges others based on their inner beliefs about religion.

AA, and its variants, are a freakin cult I tell ya.

My best friends mother has been a part of AA for about 10 years now, and you can just see the signs of a cult there. Such as AA members are only really supposed to date other AA members, and many other ass backwards rules...

    Meh I say...
