Sexing clones help
Last Tuesday I took a cutting from each of my plants to try and sex them.
Well I have them under a 26w cfl set at 12/12, they are in rockwool cubes and I have a dome over them. The room temp is 70 to 75 degrees and I have done everything correctly to my knowledge.
But they seem to be just sitting there doing nothing for 6 days. No new growth, no rotting, no nothing. The look exactly the same as the day I put them in there.
I am using a loupe to look at them and still see no sign of either sex, I figured I would know the sex by now, so I could pull the males out of the grow room before flowering and create plenty of space for my ladies, but I can't wait anymore, I have no horizontal space left and If I continue veging they are going to crowd out each other.
Is this normal for clones to take this long or is something not right?
What is my best move to make from here?Jerry Garcia 2007 Reviewed by Jerry Garcia 2007 on . Sexing clones help Last Tuesday I took a cutting from each of my plants to try and sex them. How thick are the cuttings' stems? Large enough to sustain it's life till rooted? Did you dip the cutting in any rooting hormone?
Can take a couple of weeks for roots to form, and new growth to start appearing.
IMHO, Best move: Just keep 'em moist, (no nutes) and be patient. A week or two of crowding should not harm the females. At most...they may 'feel' a little stress.
Any pix?

How old was the plant you took them from? Was it sexually mature?

To answer these questions, yes I used a powder rooting hormone, cuttings were less than an 1/8th" but more than 1/16th" thick, as for mature they were in there 4th week, week 6 starts Friday. Some cuttings were small but some were 3" long. But like I said all are doing nothing.
The only thing I can think of is maybe temp. They are in a moist humid enviroment and I have done everthing that I was told to do by my last thread and reading. andeverthing I was told and read they should of shown signs of sex by now.

Just sitting there doing nothing.
They're
1st- wondering why the hell did somebody cut them off the rest of their body
2nd- wondering IF they should start growing roots
3rd- wondering IF they should start to flower, now that they're 12/12
Give 'em a break... if they're not dying, they're doing good.
A rough estimate I would throw is that you'll see sex in them in around 14-21 days total life-time.
Hope this helps somewhat!

Yes the plants are showing alternating nodes, not the cuttings though, I did take the cuttings from the under growth where I did not see the the branch turning into a majoir or main kola.

As already suggested, your plants are acting perfectly normal for 6-7 days. My cuttings show very little, if any, root growth until about day 9. After that point, they explode to about 2-3" of root growth at about day 14. As far as showing their sex, you will have to wait.
Especially since you just took the cuttings and did not root them prior to flowering them, you are placing several different demands on them at the same time (you want them to start flowering, root, and not die). I would recommend rooting your cuttings while maintaining vegetative lighting as it is less stressful on the plant.
Just wait it out

the clones look healthy, just be patient. for me it is about 2 weeks till i see the clones root, i dont know if they will show before they do that though because i dont flower the clones, i flower the parent plants and tell which clones to keep for next time.
