    Decided to grow,

So I finally decided to go ahead and attempt a grow. I've been reading alot of posts on the board and I think I can try this out. Now I'm thinking about getting a bubbler system like this one http://cgi.ebay.com/HYDROPONIC-BUBBL...QQcmdZViewItem. Now far as what I want to grow. I'm thinking about going with something like lowryder 2 or something from lowlife seeds. I plan to plant 5 at a time. These guys don't get too big. On average 12" to 20". Will the 150 watt HPS be enough? I'm not trying to do anything super. If I can get about 2 ounces I'm happy. What do you guys think?
P.S. How would one of those sun visors with the reflective side for your car work for a small closet grow for reflecting light?

    Decided to grow,

150W HPS can get you 2 zips(if you take common sense in there with ya).
I don't suggest going hydro to begin unless your a chemist or something similar. Its nothing personal but hydro is step 3 on the herb growing difficulty meter. step 1 being soil, step 2 being a soiless mix, then step 3 hydro. If you've got a really green thumb and good knowledge of hydroponics you could try hydro first, but I wouldn't.
I do use the sun visor as a reflector for my CFL's but I wouldn't do it on my HPS(too hot).

    Decided to grow,

hydro is a bitch if your just starting out, lot of stuff to be on top of or risk of being non-sucessful, but if you put in the time/effort youll prob be fine

    Decided to grow,

Well damn. Thats why I love this board. Quick responses. These guys got me sold on their systems. They make it sound so easy, but I guess members of this board will give me the real. These systems seem like a set it and forget it type thing. Besides checking pH level, raising lights, cleaning out the system, adding nutes, etc. Hmm, you guys got me thinking

    Decided to grow,

Think hard about this one. This board may be quick but if your hydro setup goes nuts, you may not get an answer before catastrophic failure. In soil you'll have more slack to make mistakes.

    Decided to grow,

Thanks Zcomp. I guess I was sold on the whole plug and play thing. I read alot of topics about bubblers and never really looked at posts about growing in soil. I know I read 1 post talking about mixing your own soil and I was like why do that when you can go hydro with hydroton rocks. Guess there's alot more for me to learn. Time to use the search function
