cfl lights?

Im a begginer on growing and was wondering how much lumens should be on one plant if using cfl lights ? How many cfl lights should I have on 1 plant , also what soil could I get at a local store , so far the cfl light I found was 23watt 100 eq 6500k 1500-2000 lumens for cfl then theres the f tubes day light t12 40wats 6500k 3050 lumens. How many would I need just for each plant? :hippy:

One plant is not the way to plan this. I recommend germinating several bag seeds. If sucessful you can always toss the extra later. Any good potting soil will work and some perlite added is nice too. Germinate several seeds in 16 ounce cups or 4 inch pots, with good drainage or germinate in wet tissue and plant.

The T12 floro tubes would work for the first 30-50 days of growth, or about 2 of the CFL's would work too. 6500k is what you want for the first stage of growing. We like to call it vegging the plant. The light needs to be on at least 18 hours a day or more. This would be more than enough light for 5+ plants.

so total lumens should add 10,000 , If I get 4,5 cfls and how close should I have the f tubes to the plant and thanks ofr the info, do the package have to say cfl cause walmart packages dont have the cfl lable and lowes?

get 2-3 bulbs per plant at least.

i grew mine with about 1 ezch, and they grew, but kinda scraggley

aight thanks, Im going try growing four plants to make sure I get 1 femal plant outta the four , rite now I bought 4 day light 26watts 1600 lumens 6500k and 2 t12 f tubes 40wattes 3050 lumens 6500k,so that equals 184 watts 12,500 lumens.Would that be enough for 4 plants?

That more than plenty for 4 plants. Those will get you though the first stage of growing.

aright sweet, how far should I keep the bulbs from the plant and should I hang them all on top or put aome sidways, and i will be building cab 3ft w 4ft h

any way that maximises the light being given to the plants, whether it be running the tubes along the sides and the bulbs on top or vice-versa, you'll know yourself. keep them 2-3 inches away from the plants and line your cab with mylar
