Beowulf

Also, the movie is set in Viking times, which was s lot of fun to watch, but I think the original oral story was before Vikings. Around the time of the Vikings, the story was written down from an older oral story, but it is not about Vikings.
Another movie that did this was Troy. They turned a story that has stood for 3000 years into a Hollywood production that butchered the story. Made for an exciting movie, but a real insult to literature. That's the way I felt, but some of my friends thought I was being a little ridiculous. I didn't get as worked up about Beowulf, but I think that is because I never read the original. If I did, I would probably be pissed.
Anyway, this is another fun movie that is an insult to literature. The really bad ones are the ones that are an insult, but aren't good movies either.More of the same: Renger\'s Rantings
