    Doctor G : Back at the Smoke-Easy

    50 caliber ginger beer

I had ordered a bottle of Ginger Beer at the smoke easy and I stopped to read the label after a couple of sips.
??Dogs Breath Moonshine Brewing Company? read over a black skull and crossed bones. ??Not for Human Consumption, Novelty Product Only?
??Contains; Colorado Spring Water, organic cane sugar, fresh ginger, 1043(w) yeast and fortified with 15ml 70% THC tincture, Approximately 22% alcohol & 30mg THC.?
??Do not attempt to operate Machinery after being exposed to this product, do not Drive, Walking is suggested only with aid. Open Bottle with extreme caution: contents EXPLOSIVE! Danger DO NOT Open near other persons, the person who sold you this bottle can in no way be held responsible for any incident as a result of possession or consumption of this product and or bottle?
This kind of pseudo lawyer print kept me busy for most of ten minutes; it was the funniest shit I had read in years. It was all over the bottle; like those old Dr..Bonnors Peppermint Soap bottles of my youth. Teeny tiny print in layers all over the label. The Skull and Crossed Bones took up a little space, as did the company logo of a vomiting dog. The rest of the label was covered in lawyer sized print with script flourishes to keep your attention. All this crap about not for human consumption and ??it??s all your fault for drinking this stuff?; I could hardly hold on to my joint, actually it went out so many times I just set it down in the ash tray and read for a while; I was dying!!
Andy came by as I was busting a gut and saw my distress.
??How do you like the new labels??
I could only nod, between the joint of Warlock and the 22% alcohol I could barely breathe.
??The guys that brew this stuff run a still on their ranch. Along with the moonshine and auto fuel they distill; they also brew and bottle a line of unusual drinks. They have a ??Welch??s Grape Juice?? brandy that is supposed to be pretty good? he paused to hit the joint he was holding ??I am looking forward to their Winter Wheat Whiskey, all Colorado grown and some ingredients gathered in the wild; a formidable brew from the samples I have tasted?
He paused again to hit the joint.
??The original recipe for this ginger beer was labeled ??Do not try, go to the next one?? and stuff like that, but of course they pressed on and after a couple of explosive trials they hit on this brew which they can make in fifty gallon batches. The tincture comes from their garden, all Dutch strains; they dissolve the smaller buds in a couple of gallons of fresh 191 and let it reduce; run it through a strainer just before adding it to the bottled product, and, well, you seem to be enjoying the result.?
??It does make for a powerful brew? I said as I began to get some control over my breathing, ??But how did you find these guys??
??I was at a brew convention and these two guys were out in the parking lot. I recognized on of them from High School so I wandered over. They had a trunk load of a version of this ginger beer which for some reason did not qualify for entry into the completion. I realized the product would fit perfectly here but it needed that extra touch? he waved his giant hand lightly in the air, ??And that it turns out, is how they made they brew at home. After very little negotiation they agreed to let me sell it here for a very reasonable $4.50 a bottle?
I could only agree, the Ginger Beer was relaxing and the Warlock was doing its job; I could barely notice the added effect of the tincture. ??Humm?? I thought, ??if I can barely feel it now I should be well stoned when it comes on properly. Perhaps I should pocket this joint; now.??
I good idea but perhaps a but late in taking hold
A#@$ wandered away looking for company more able to communicate and I slumped in my seat as I pondered the effects of multiple fine quality perception altering compounds upon the screen of my consciousness. I will remember the next time I see a product from the ??Dogs Breath Moonshine Brewing Company? and only drink half the bottle.
