Well I see your point.....just don't agree with it My understanding of the story (so far) is that the two girls were friends....then not friends for whatever reason. And yes, according to the story the parents who were involved in the hoax WERE aware the victim had mental issues.....they knew the family well and the FAMILIES had been friends. Don't know if this changes anything but there it is.

I think ANY adult who manipulates a child ( or is even AWARE that THEIR CHILD is pulling said shit) is no better than....say.....perhaps a pedophile. They are manipulating and lying to kids in order the screw them.......one way or another.

I don't for one second believe that ANYONE intended for this girl to hurt herself....they just didn't really CARE what she felt because they wanted to do something and so they simply did it without regard for anyone or anything else. I can EASILY compare this to the driving drunk who NEVER intended to hurt anyone.....which doesn't make one bit of difference to the victim does it? And it CERTAINLY doesn't mitigate the behaviour of the adults involved.....or their moral responsibility either.

I'm also extremely sad for the child who initially made up the profile (it was her parents who assisted with it..allegedly) for several reasons. She not only has NO chance to ever be a decent, caring, self-respecting person with role models like that but her own parents have now mostly likely given HER the gift of mental problems to deal with for the rest of her life due to her own guilt about her friend. What lovely people.

I just read this story and am so amazed by it that I'm honestly not sure what to think.....beside being horrified by the entire thing. Could some of you let me know what you think about all this?
