Grow box humidity?????
Hey folks,
I've built a box with a 600 w air cooled hps and a substantial ventilation system. I can keep the box in the upper 70's but the humidity is running about 20% due to the amount of airflow. About 160 cfm in and 100 cfm out. This is my first grow and the plants are about 3 weeks and seeming to love the light. Won't the humidity climb as the plants grow? and do I have any worries with the current levels??
Thanks!

Grow box humidity?????
to raise the humidity first try using a bucket of warm water, or get a humidifyer.
the more surface area the water has and the closer it is to light and heat the faster it will evaporate and should raise the humidity abit for you
hope this helps any

Grow box humidity?????
three weeks old......you should be fine without raising the humidity, your plants are out of that stage. Typically the humidity domes are for seeds, cloning, etc.... your humidity in the closet is fine now, and will raise as your plants get bigger, but keep in mind that if you raise the humidity, your raising the chances for rot...
but if you do want to raise the humidity of your room, just do what tex said and that will raise it some...

Grow box humidity?????
22% just seemed too low, but on the other hand the plants seem to be loving the HID lighting and don't appear to be sufferin' in the dry air. I did sit a container of water in the box this morning and am watching the humidistat. Completely understand on it getting to high and the issues around rot, mold and fungus.
Thanks for the input!!My First Grow - http://boards.cannabis.com/grow-log/...l-cabinet.html

While there seems to be vastly different opinions and experience here, I've settled in on the assumption the humidity should be 40-60%.
To get there I added a small cool air humidifier to the cabinet and now have the temp at a comfortable 78 deg and the relative humidity around 48%. And I thought the kids were loving the MH lighting.. they're really perking up now. Pics once the Image Gallery returns..
