Joints seem "soft"
Here is my dilema, my joints come out well shaped (will post a pic later) but they seem soft once i roll them up completely. i try "rolling" it in my fingers (moving the paper up and down) to try and solidify the inners of it, but i always get shit falling out the sides, never a good "weed turd". Any suggestions would be great. thanks!!

Maybe as you're rolling its getting loose. Also, I find that if you grind the bud too fine it is harder to roll. I usually grind it so its still fine, but the grains are bigger, if you get what I'm saying. Other than that its just practice, practice, practice. Or you could just give up and by yourself a roller.

Pack the bud. If your using an electric grinder press it like 3 times and thats it.
Maybe your just not fit for rolling joints.?
LEts hope its the First one

Keep practicing. Eventually you'll be able to tighten it up and only a little weed will fall out of the sides. Once it's rolled, pinch one end and turn it open-up. Put all the little pieces that fell out in and poke them down with a pokey. I usually roll over a piece of paper in my lap just in case.

Wow, I've never had a problem rolling joints, from the day I started. Even my first time I tried rolling it turned out well.
Maybe you're not filling it enough or you aren't packing it tight enough.
When I'm rolling I move from the middle to the outside forming the shape of the joint and yeah stuff does fall out the side and it's annoying but just keep rolling until it's packed quite a bit, roll downwards and tuck the paper under the bud against the other side of the paper and try to roll it tighter with a slight up and down motion to make sure it's tight. After that I take a pen or something and put it in the hole on the joint and push down to pack the weed tight (do it to both ends), then just put in a filter on one end and twist the other.

Pack the shake that falls out of your j during rolling into the sides and poke it down with a pen before closing up the ends.

I suggest pen-packing for superb joints. A real novel way to roll a perfect fat joint is to take a 1.25" paper, wrap it around a Sharpie and seal it. Just slide it off most of the way and pack away. The paper should have just enough overlap to glue and that's it. You won't have a nice conical shape, but you will have a mean joint. Maybe try rolling with a blunt wrap; it's easier and more forgiving for the most part, except if the wrap is especially moist.
And I prefer to grind my buds for jays, but now I hate ground weed in bowls. I handroll my own cigs so a joint is pretty much automatic now. And yes, knowing all the technique in the world won't do a damn if you never practice, so keep on keepin' on.

Ok, this is the technique I was shown when I first started rolling joints and couldn't quite manage them. First, break up your bud to a fine consistency being careful to remove all stems and any rogue seeds which may be present. Next take your paper and fold over a decent sized pocket at the bottom to hold your herbage.
Now take out a dollar bill and fold it end to end without creasing and rest the prepared paper in the dollar cradle you've created. Hold the whole deal in your left hand (or right hand if you're a lefty), gently like a soft taco shell while you fill the paper inside the dollar evenly with weed. Now once you have your product in the paper resting in the dollar cradle bring the whole thing in front of you and hold it in both hands as if you were rolling a regular joint.
Sort of rock the configuration gently back and forth while gently squeezing/pinching your fingers down towards the forming tube of weed at the bottom of the cradle. Peek in the end as you begin to roll with your fingers, sliding the front and back halves of the bill tightly against one another, thumbs moving upwards and fingers at the back moving down. If you've got the motion correct the shorter front edge of the paper will tuck neatly over the roll of weed and into the longer back half of the paper.
Continue the sliding/rolling motion until the joint is neatly rolled inside the dollar cradle leaving just the gummed edge of the paper free of the joint. Carefully remove the joint from the cradle being sure to keep enough pressure on the joint to keep the paper tight, but not split it. Now lick and seal. You should be ready to light that bad boy up and toke away. Enjoy your handiwork. I hope this helped you.
PS) Use a little more weed than you need at first because some may squeeze out the ends.

Wow, you guys are some experts over here... my joints roll correctly (see below) i just dont get the right firmness. It maybe because i am grinding it too fine (will do a little less in the Magic Bullet). Hopefully that will be the solution.
