    why inline fans?

I always see people mentioning inline fans and im curious as to why?

i've no experience with them, i just used an old 8inch fan i had kicking around the house as my exhaust (its massive overkill for the situation but it gets the job done and then some)

    Are they quieter?
Is it because they are easier to hook up to carbon filters?
    Something else perhaps?

    why inline fans?

They are compact, easy to plumb into ductwork, and move more air than just about anything else (especially for their size).

A muffin fan is basically a case sized fan (a fan in the back of your computer). The things move a surprising amount of air for their size.

because the guy that created them said to buy them from him. lmao

muffin fans are pretty good for a cfl grow, but when you start getting into the larger hps lights they really dont work much. the muffins along with inductor/booster fans under a load really dont have the balls to move the air like the inlines do.you can search around and get a very reliable inline for about 100-200 depending on size you need. and another thing is when hooking up to a carbon filter and cooltube, youll have environment around a maximum and smell taken care of

Oh im very happy with my current ventilation set up, its massive over kill for my needs but it works good for me. I was just curious about an inline due to its overall popularity of use.
