    it sprouted. Put it in a dixie cup under 16 hours of light for 2-3 weeks until the true leaves start to appear then transplant it into a one gallon and when i do that THEN i put it under the HID right?

    You can use any light at any time. Just make sure HIDs are a few feet back for seedlings, then gradually move as close as possible over a couple of weeks, and watch for heat stress.
