My friend clones to sex. Take some cuttings from the plant and root them. Once rooted, flower them to determine the plant's sex.

thats a pretty good idea, taking a clone then sexing it.

If you're serious about it, I would grow a little mother, take a clone, and as soon as it roots flower it. Takes some time but it can pay off.
