Silver skin on stem
what could be causing such a wierd thing looked up some pics of plant problems and none matched my symptoms could it be form overwatering? Ill post a pic 2morow if no one can help me without one. Also its like a thin silver crust that is growin only on the stem and i wouldnt say hard to peel off but it isnt easy either. Any tips help would be much appreciated.

Ah relax, it's the equivalent of bark... as the plant grows older it will start to appear more tan colored and flake off.

Did you start it from seed? sounds like the same thing is happening to my four(which are looking lush!-from seed.) I dont think it is anything to worry about,I think its just an old baby skin? If it were a tree,it would be like silver birch shedding its old bark.

Silver skin on stem
As already said, it's perfectly normal. It should be translucent grayish/brownish and cover the stem right around where the cotyledons are/were.

Not to sound like an echo, but yea its totally normal.
My girl did the same thing, developed a really silvery sheen to her then she started gettin woody on her stem, now she just lookes kinda like a tree when you're lookin directly at the main stem.
