1,600 school children and their parents have been ordered to appear in circuit court this Saturday where health workers will immediately force them to receive required shots. Parents who don?t bring their children to court for the shots are to be jailed.

For what reason wouldn't you want your kid vaccinated for chicken pox and hepatitis B? It's a state requirement that doesn't cost the family a dime. They even tried door to door!

As a Baby Boomer, I grew up in an America where the scourges of epidemics and childhood diseases had affected almost every family, either directly or indirectly. (My father had a sister who died from some silly childhood disease.) The ravages of polio were evident everywhere, and one of my worst fears as a child was that I might someday end up in an iron lung.

Subsequent generations never had to deal with these horrors. To them, vaccines aren't a miracle of science, but rather an imposition on their freedom of choice.

I can understand the strong need for everyone to be immunized. However, it seems almost strange that American citizens could be put in jail for not taking a shot?

It just seems like everywhere I look, slowly but surely, our government is forcing us to do what THEY want, conforming us, to what THEY think we need to do, it makes me real uncomfortable.

I don't see how people can just sit back and allow all of this to go on. We can't smoke a friggin' weed that provides so many positive services? But we can smoke tobacco that kills hundreds of thousands of Americans annually? We're not legally old enough to drink alcohol, yet were legally old enough to "fight for our country"? Immigration is a BAD thing, yet (aside from the poor Native Americans) every single one of us was originally an immigrant?

Something just isn't right...And according to Thomas Jefferson, it is up to us (the people) to change things. That's why I completely disagree with our "occupation" in Iraq. If Hussein was such a tyrant, if should've been up to the Iraqi people to overthrow him. If I've learned anything from history it's:

A.) It's up to the people to change things if conditions aren't conducive to their living happily. It's up to the people to Right the Wrong

and

B.) War is ALWAYS about money, and for America, there's ALWAYS been an excuse to go to war

I guess anti-vaccination people like Alex Jones and Dr. Ron Paul would like to see a resurgence in various diseases. I not only remember posters like the one below, from the 1950's, but I have a cousin who had polio as well.

exactly, if i want don't want to put a vaccine with mercury or thimerosal in my body or my kid's body, i shouldn't be forced to...

we've seen autism go from one in tens of thousands to one in 150, always after rounds of shots loaded with neurological disorder causing poison...

Chickenpox - vaccine
The side effects from the chickenpox vaccine are generally minor. Some of the mild possible side effects include:

not everyone needs vaccines. there are lots of people that have very strong immune systems and dont get sick. and another thing if you start pumping your body with drugs you will have to have drugs to maintain a well state of being. i am against that. the same thing goes as how many people around here wont use chemicals on their plants because they dont want to put synthasized chemicals in them. today they are finding more and more problems with all the drugs our parents us wifes and others take today. and what pisshead was sayin about autism

i should have the option of not being told by any government to take a shot. you're not living in a free country if you're forced to take a shot.
