Actually I have heard that recently. Some makers are producing white hash with considerably less plant material in it and more trichs, however, you can see a predicament as it would seem more pure, but most dealers dilute their stash and this is even easier to do with white powdery substances. Long story short, quality ultimately depends on purity, which is often incredibly hard to measure, therefore one can assume the fresher the product the more pure it is. I've read that fresher product is often softer, more pliable than baked, old hash.
