Im not no activist or a veggy but i just dnt like animal cruelty i understand were gna eat a chicken but i still belive we should kill that chicken in the most humane way possible not feed it pills to beef it up its wrong.
I came across this site:
http://www.kentuckyfriedcruelty.com/
and read up about it herers a extract from their site:
"Thanks to 11 months of intensive campaigning against McDonaldâ??s, six months of even more intense campaigning against Burger King, and two months of campaigning against Wendyâ??s, these corporations are making major improvements in the living and dying conditions of animals used for their restaurants.
Following more than 100 demonstrations in the 20 U.S. states and four Canadian provinces where Safeway (different from Safeway U.K.) and its subsidiaries operate, Safeway also agreed to implement new minimum standards of animal welfare, making it the first grocery chain in U.S. history to pledge to make much-needed improvements in the living and dying conditions of farmed animals"
All im askign if you believe animals should be treated with a bit more respect.
All im asking is you watch this video:
http://www.petatv.com/tvpopup/Prefs.asp?video=bea_kfc
IF YOU THINK THATS RIGHT THE WAY THERE TREATED FAIR ENOUGHT. IF YOU THINK ITS WRONG YOU CAN HELP BY:
CLICKING: http://64.213.197.19/forms/irpt_welcome.asp?brandid=80
to fill out a KFC customer-service form. Explain why you think that the company should improve its animal-welfare standards and state that you wonâ??t eat there until it does.
PLEASE WATCH THAT VIDEO AND DECIDE FOR YOURSELF IF ITS RIGHT OR WRONG.robert42 Reviewed by robert42 on . Good post, but I also could not become a vegetarian. I just enjoy eating meat. I would much rather kill my own food than have mass slaughtering of animals, but there are too many people on this earth now. The least we can do is make sure they are treated more humanely.

thats a good point, saw.. alot of time goes into campaigning and complaining about all sorts of stuff, but then alot of important stuff gets ignored
but then again, whos to say that we are more important than other animals?

ppl think animals are dumb but it sum1 started slaughtering little children and opened a shop called: Hannibals Fried Kiddies then ppl would complain. they breathe the same air as us. just cos they cant talk dont mean they should be ignored.

I too am fussy with food, and couldn't (for the moment, at least) contemplate life without meat - and before you all start jumping on me (lol), I have tried...but I dunno...juicy steak....succulent chicken....ahhh
I agree, things need to be looked at seriously.
That said - we live in a place and time where money is King...try asking a farmer to turn out loads of his land for free-ranging chickens....the chickens absolutely destroy land (especially in the numbers that we'd be talking about), and it just isn't financially viable.
And that's the bottom line, folks - money.
I don't like it anymore than the next man - I detest money with a passion - but we have to be realistic.
I've seen the sheds in which these poor chickens are kept in - we are talking about a shed of approximately 100Mtrs x 50Mtrs, with upwards of 20,000 chickens per shed...with artificial lighting, time released feed trays..the works.
These criters will ONLY see the light of day, on the day that they are loaded into the machine that kills them.
It's one of the saddest sights I've seen.
I've never done that job since, and never will again - no matter how hard-up I find myself.
I actually find that KFC has diminshed in quality, and as such don't bother with them - same with McD, Burger King, et al - but they are the same chickens that you'll find in ANY chicken type outlet (Tescos, Asda, Walmart, etc etc)
Anyways, I'm blabbing (trying to make the most of my last moments on the net lmaoo)
Cool post, robert
