Of course. I take grand strolls around the Home Labyrinth every once in a while, but I'm no longer allowed to go by myself. My wife insists that she supervises my visits ever since I "surprised" her a few years ago by bringing home a new John Deere riding lawnmower. But, in my defense, it was a great deal...and I got 0% financing for a year on lawn supplies. She's lucky I didn't bring home an in-ground sprinkler system, garden tiller, and more! (Actually, I'm lucky I didn't... she would have outright killed me. I was only mauled for buying the lawnmower.)

As for being glazed over, I find this necessary to endure the dull drudgery of just about ALL of our shopping activities. Spending 3 HOURS at a grocery or outlet store is downright maddening while stone sober...this is generally where I let her do her thing, and I find a nearby hardware or electronics store. My job requires that I do a lot of 1-on-1 interviews, so I've always got a digital voice recorder on hand for those fleeting strokes of genius that need to be remembered. Sadly, I'm constantly erasing them before I have a chance to check them again. Maybe I should carry around a notepad reminding me to check my voice-reminders before erasing them...
