Trip to meps

Well here it is my first post after many weeks of observing all the great info on this particular baord. I am not a regular smoker by any means, but i had a rough patch in my life and sarted toking for about three to two and a half weeks. I decided to get my life on track and join the marines. I have abstained for 17 days with a lot of running invloved and have taking three at home test with them showing very light colored lines to some what darker lines saying I should have past. On my eighteenth day from no smoking I will be going to meps. My question is even though I am probably clean I feel i will be much better or if I use the dilution method and I am wondering if they will check for that kind of stuff.

I would say do a dilute just to be sure...are you on the east coast or west?

hmmm..I think you will go to Parris Island for bootcamp..same place I went..I am pretty sure I went about this time cause i remember being on the firing range for christmas..but anyway do the dilute,,make sure not to give your first void of the day and I think you will be fine...good luck in the Marines...I hope you didnt pick Infantry

I havent really picked anything as of yet. I thought about infantry, but to ease the mind of my family members I am looking at national security of sorts. YOu think they will check for dilution at all? My buddy went into the national guard and he said all the people who had to stay over night in the the hotel went out and partied and the next day at meps were carrying around milk jugs full of water so it doesnt sound like they would be chekcing but i just want to make sure. I really dont want to screw this up.

you could go and be an embassy guard..they get to go to some interesting places...but back to the dilute..I think with how much you smoked and the time that you havent..with the exercise..drinking water...that you wont have to do a heavy dilute which would be harder to detect..but also, I think with recruiting and enlistment down that they concentration probably got moved up..but of course that is just me speculating. There will be some experts come along here and help you out..take it easy

Do not fail that test. It will delay your ship date at least six months. If you fail you have to get a waiver but its not the end of the road.

What is your MOS going to be?

Man. I went to meps last month cuz im joining the army.. I failed a breathalyzer test. I got drunk the night before. I have to go back dec 19. But yea. When my recruiter came and picked me up, I had to drink an entire gallon of water for about 3 hours. I had to piss like crazy.. But I believe I am going into something along the lines of information technology specialists (ITS).

Well my recruiter had to drive me to the main recruiting office, and he said before I get on the shuttle for meps I will ahve to take a piss test there. I passed that test cause then they let me go on the shuttle. When I got to meps I pissed in there cup and they said they were going to send it to a lab in chicago for further testing. I watched them put the tamper proof tape on it and everything. How do you think this lab will test it?
