amount of plants per 1sq meter

ive got a space just over 1 sq meter ( 110cm2 ) to grow in i have 2 options im trying to work out i can either place 12 plants in 11 litre pots in the space or 25 - 30 plants in 6 litre pots im not sure what to do would both methods produce the same amount or is one superior to the other i guess my question is WHICH WOULD PRODUCE THE MOST BUD ? :thumbsup:

PS: i have another question my plants have rooted and just past 7 days of vegging im thing of FIMMING them with a curving cut of 75% of the highest node ( bud ) my question is if i had 1 kola bud that produced 1oz if i then FIM and 8 branches appear will it just divide the 1oz between the 8 kolas ? :thumbsup:

You can get about 9 cm of height for every liter of pot size. So a 6 liter pot means your plants will get to ~ 54 cm before they get rootbound and you have problems. That's a pretty small plant; you'd have to start flowering at about 20 cm to be sure you didn't outgrow the pot and overstress the plant. If you're going for a SOG, use the small pots and harvest more often.

IMO, I'd go for the big pots. A plant that is 100 cm tall (pretty good size for a 11 liter pot) is going to give you a lot more yield than a 50-55 cm plant. But SOG growers may tell you different things.

i have worked with similar space, and prefer less plants w/ more veg time. why? (1)law enforcement/plant# (2)less maintenence (3) more space for individual plants to enjoy. (4) yeild unaffected. ex. grow ten 1oz plants, or four 2.5oz plants with slightly longer veg. many methods you can use.
my opinion for 3x3 space = 2-3 plant, 3-5gal growbag/bucket

I do not have hands on experience with FIM. from what ive read its hit or miss when it comes to making the perfect cut through the node. i would GUESS you're on the right track thinking it would more or less divide an oz between more colas. but I DONT know for sure, hopefully with exp can help you.

I enjoy LST b/c no cutting is required. helps get light to lower branches. Good luck with everything

fimming really depends on plant.. usually fimming gives more colas.. that of course will give you more bud. it depends on the plant how much it will give you. and sometimes u will usually not get the 8 colas you are expecting. maybe 4-6.

LST is a style that guarantees more bud no matter how you do it. lay the main cola down horizontally and see what happens!!!!!!! lol.

It produces more colas. How big those colas grow depends upon your growing skills and techniques, the strain and so on. But the general idea is to get more overall weight, not just more buds.
