    Cross Country Skiing

I used to cross country skill in high school w/ the school, but my main winter sport is snowboarding. I've been doing that for about 8 years and go out west in the rockies several times a year.
KingsBlend420 Reviewed by KingsBlend420 on . Cross Country Skiing on Beachguy's request.. I have done this quite a few times..I actually learned how to do this before I learned how to ski.. I got sent up to Bridgeport, CA for winter training..2 months of cross country skiing, making snow caves, eating winter MRE's and a shitload of walking up mountains..pretty fucking cold too..I thought i was going to lose some toes a few times..I also sprained my ankle..I remember it to..learning how to do a transition with a pack and a rifle..I got buried head first, Rating: 5

    Cross Country Skiing

There is no thrill in cross country skiing and way too much work. No, thank you.
Gimme the downhill or stay home.
I have not skied in over 25 years but I think this is my year and I am going to find a place that will not be overly crowded and ski my brains out.

Eh cross country is all right for working-out, but it gives you real pleasure! Doesn't come close to alpine skiing!

But one thing I always wanted to do is use telemark skis downhill. That looks fun! Although reading about stinky's attempts to turn on it makes me weary.....

My stepdad is a very good telemark skier- a 'pinhead'- it's MURDER on your knees though, and he had to switch back to alpine skiing in his forties, which is ironic, since alpine skiing is a leading cause of knee injury requiring ACL surgery.
