I got out of the navy 4 months later and after spending some time with my family, I looked Cas up and decided to head up to Jersey to visit him. Since he was AWOL he couldnâ??t get a decent job, his father got him to start dealing a very bad substance to make money. The day I arrived, I knocked on the door (he was living with dad) His dad answered and pulled me in quick. It turned out they had a issue with the local cops because they were doing a deal to buy a bunch of e pills from a dirty cop who during the deal doubled the price per pill, when Cas and his cousin refused, the cop changed scripts and told them they were under arrest, well they were like fuck that and Casâ??s cousin beat the cop senseless and took his gun radio drugs and they bolted. Cas described this to me like it all happened in slo mo and he was still in shock. The local cops drove by his dadâ??s house and dropped a bag of bullets at his doorstep. Cas wanted to get out of town before some big shit popped of, he asked if he could chill down with me (I lived 500 mi. away) Against my better judgment I agreed. His asshole dad made Cas due another round of drop offs before letting him go. Cas stayed with me for a week but ran out of money and went back to NJ, got arrested for possession and his dad wouldnâ??t even spring for decent lawyer, they found out about the navy while he was in and since then he disappeared and I havenâ??t heard from him since.

Sometimes you try to outgrow your past and strive for better but the past catches up like a nightmare and eats you alive. Thatâ??s it for Cas my friend and ship mate.
