Hey man. You seem to be some what of a guru around here, so I'll ask you directly.

I had the hair test topic about a week ago. I've been smoke free for 3 weeks now, might even be 4 by the time I take the test. I have really short, blond hair, so the bleach redye doesn't really apply to me. Do you think if I get a detox from a local drug store, along with the shampoo, that I'll be able to pass?

When I was smoking, it was only about .3 to .4 grams a day. A couple bowls throughout the day.

4 weeks isn't that much clean time for a hair test. They can go back 1 & 1/2 inches and if you haved smoked 3 times during that 90 days, you may test positive. 4 weeks clean time would mean that about the last 21 days of hair growth are clean or only 0.35inches (21/30 times 1/2 inch growth per month). Why do you feel bleaching and redying is not an option to you? How much have you smoked during the last 3 months and how long exactly is your hair?

My answer is the same as last week, bleach and dye combined with other treatments and you will probably pass(90%+).

Anything less and you will probably fail.

Well...Im a regular smoker. Daily. My hair is usually shaved. I have been growing it for about a month now(1/4 inch). It just I have a feeling they wont be taking from my head since it's so short. But because my hair is so blond already, the bleach redye would look extremely weird, especially since I have already had 3 interveiws at the place. Im reaching the final stages of hiring, so im just preying at this point. Like I said.. It might be 4 weeks (clean) or more by the time I test. So im hoping the shampoo method will work. I was confident, but now you guys are making me paranoid. Either way I'll keep everyone posted on what happens. Pass or fail.

Jerry is the pro here but I wanted to warn You to be careful around Your hair line and skin so You don't go to the test with chemical burns around Your hair and ears.

A safe length for collection is about 3/4 of an inch of hair. Some collectors will take it from your head if it is a little shorter, some collectors won't. This is one of those judgement gray areas. If your armpits hair is 3/4-1 inch in length or longer, I would treat both you head and your armpits, then shave everything else forcing them to use from one of these two areas.

Well depending on how much this jobs means to you, you can get it done by a professional but it will cost much more than doing it yourself, say anywhere between $50 to $100 or so. If you want to do it yourself, they make a ton of hair colors and it won't be that hard to match it. Go to a beauty supply store and have the employees help you. Bleaching it will probably turn it nearly white then you color it back using the color suggestion from the employees. Although it will be starting off lighter than what the employees at the beauty supply store will have seen, it should soak up that color and become a near match. If you have to you can dye it again or try it yourself then if you fail get it professionally done.

If you have stopped smoking and it has been 14 days or more since your last smoke, it won't matter when you do the treatments. The body stops depositing THC metabolites in the hair shortly after the last time you smoke (2-3 days). Then you have lag time for the hair has to move out of the follicle and far enough out of the scalp for it to be cut. This usually takes 10 days for both processes but I'm going with 14 to be safe. If you successfully clean the hair 14 days after last smoke, no more will be deposited and it won't get "dirty" again. If you are using the Macujo method in addition to bleaching then you want to space things out as so not to burn your scalp. The mac method can be found by doing a advanced search for post by me in the drug testing section using the term laundry.
