If you have an oral piercing you should avoid smoking cigarettes. Ganja is totally fine, trust me - just try not to bump your lip ring up against the bong.

LuckyG Reviewed by LuckyG on 11-11-2007. Oral Piercings I just got my lip pierced two days ago. All sorts of conflicting sources tell me not to smoke for three hours, a week, three weeks, or ever! I got a titanium labret because I'm allergic to nickel. It hasn't flared up or anything like my nickel piercings used to. It's going really well. I take an advil every few hours if it feels irritated or swollen, and I rinse with Biotene after I eat. In the shower, I work a little Dial soap into the front and rinse it out. My lips pierced, I smoke all the time. No problems.

Yeah... BirdGirl is 100% correct on this one. Until it heals, I would recommend vaporizing or eating cannabis and NO CIGARETTES (if that is an issue).

Be sure to stay hydrated and healthy food is a must.

Once you are healed, you can begin to smoke again. But be careful with cigarettes; they really irritate the mucosa of the mouth.
