3 out of 10 germ
3 of my 10 white willow seeds germinated today after 72 hrs. Its probably too early to worry about them. I have them in damp paper towels on a plate with a bowl covering them. The temp in the room is about 72-74.
Should I put them in ziplock bag or just wait it out a few more days?
I am too nervous to put the plate on the frig or on a cable box because I feel it could be too much heat for them. Input???
Well anyway the 3 that germinated are in rocok wool I will see how they do over the next week or so.zerocool5878 Reviewed by zerocool5878 on . 3 out of 10 germ 3 of my 10 white willow seeds germinated today after 72 hrs. Cable box/wifi router, IMO.
The 3 that germinated, plant them.
Did you pre-soak the seeds before going the paper towel method?

3 out of 10 germ
No I didn't presoak I just did the paper towel method. Someone told me that I should use an emptie pill bottle and put just a little water where the seeds just float. if they dont germ in the next day or so. I planted the 3 that poped already. I think im going to check tommorrow if anymore germinated i will plant those as well. any left over I will ziplock them and put them on the cable modem and see if that helps.
Any other things to try this company says there seeds have 99.9% germination so I have high hopes but they all prob say that.
thanks

Put them in a plastic bag but don't seal it. You need to keep it warm and as moist as possible.

3 out of 10 germ
I put mine on a cable box until they pop open... The extra heat seams to help them absorb the water so they are pliable and able to open. Then I put them on my audio receiver which is slightly less heat. The cable box gets pretty hot though. I germed 4 seeds and 4 out of 4 germinated. I like to take 4 pieces of paper towel and place them on top of each other then look at them as 4 sections. I place the seeds in the middle of one section and then fold the paper towel so that they end up with the other 3 sections on top of them so the water runs down to the seeds so they get pretty soaked.

Keeping growing conditions at the optimum level will increase you female count, I heard somewhere that higher temps and a slightly more acidic ph account for more females.
