Ron Paul's $400 Million Earmarks

Texas congressman and Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul â?? who is campaigning as a critic of congressional overspending â?? has revealed that he is requesting $400 million worth of earmarks this year.

The Wall Street Journal reports Paul's office says those requests include $8 million for the marketing of wild American shrimp and $2.3 million to pay for research into shrimp fishing.

Can't flip a hundy for a damn metal but can spend $400 mill in things that are hidden into other bills. Sure...no problems with Rosa at all. I'm sure he has a dominate handle on the black vote.

Have a good one!:s4:
Here's how it works, Paul adds the earmarks to a bill that he knows he will end up voting against. The bill passes anyway, and some of the money goes back to his constituents. Yeah, it is playing the Washington money game, but if the other's in Congress would vote against the meat in these bills like they should, Paul's district wouldn't see a dime.

The only way to stop this is the line item veto and no earmarks attached to legislation.

BTW, I loved his example of the Armenian legislation and the trouble it caused. What right does Congress have to condemn actions in foreign countries? For that matter, Congress does not have the right to condemn Rush Limbaugh or Moveon for their remarks.
