Smoking after removal of wisdom teeth?
well i too just had my teeth pulled out, and what they are worried about is the vaccum in yoru mouth when sucking on a cig/joint/pipe/straw or whatever, will dislodge the bloodclots in the bottom of the holes. i say just eat some brownies. i dont know what they did for you, but i had enough pills to last me 2 weeks, fucked up..
Frickr Reviewed by Frickr on . Smoking after removal of wisdom teeth? I got my wisdom teeth out this morning, at 10:30 or so EST. Anyway, I'm not in to bad of pain, but i'd love to smoke a little just to relax me and chill out. I'm not suppose to smoke (cigarettes) for three weeks, and the office doesn't know I smoke weed. The reason for no smoking is because I could develop "Dry Socket" (Read about it Dry Socket and Alveolar osteitis - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) . Anyway, Dry Socket seems to be caused the sucking on a cigarette, or in this case a Rating: 5

Smoking after removal of wisdom teeth?
I had my teeth out, smoked weed, and I got a dry socket. I can't say for sure that smoking caused it, but I did smoke, so it is possible.
I was actually OK for about 5 days after getting the teeth out. Then I got this really bad headache and earache. My teeth didn't hurt, just my head, my ear, and part of my face. I had no idea it could be related to the teeth, so I suffered like that for most of a week and eventually started complaining to my coworkers about it, and finally one told me to ask my oral surgeon about it. I went into his office and he took a tiny piece of gauze, dipped it in clove oil, and stuffed it into the hole. It was like all the pain turned off like turing off a switch --- instantaneous. A dry socket exposes a nerve that runs throughout your head, and if it gets oxygen on it, it can make phantom pain occur all over the place. Deadening that nerve makes the pain in all those other places go away, but I still would not risk getting a dry socket. Follow your doctor's orders, and enjoy the painkillers they give you.More of the same: Renger\'s Rantings

Smoking after removal of wisdom teeth?
When I got my wisdom teeth out, the oral surgeon told me to go get some stuff ready before the day of the surgery --- prescription filled, ice packs, soft food, etc.
So I went to the store, bought myself a bunch of pudding cups and applesauce and stuff like that, and while I was there I got some canned cat food for my cat too.
When I was going through the checkout, the cashier asked if I was doing anything good for the weekend, and I said, "No, the reason I am buying all this soft food is I'm going to get my wisdom teeth pulled out on Friday."
She stopped in the middle of scanning a can of Friskies, looked me in the eye, and said, "Did you just say you are going to be eating CAT FOOD because you are getting your teeth pulled out?"
"Yeah. I can't go back on kibble for a week..."More of the same: Renger\'s Rantings

If you had a vaporizer you could take nose hits painlessly.
\"That\'s the only way you can solve the problem, with a paradox, man.\"

like Frickr said the main concern is the vacuum created in your mouth when you suck on something (which is why they say not to use straws). If you're inhaling from a bong, there isn't much more pressure created than if you're just breathing regularly. If you must, use a bong, not a joint.
