I highly recomend these fluorescent lights!!
This fluoro unit is called "lightwing". It takes 2 x 55 watt tubes which emit a whopping 9'600 lumens onto my babies 24 hours a day. I used to believe that plants needed a "rest" period and only had my lights on for 18/6; but now I know that's a load of bullshit after seeing how these seedlings have grown under continuous light. I sprouted the seeds in paper towel and they went in the soil 1 week ago today. When they're big enough I'm going to top them all and plant the tops as cuttings so I can sex them. The males will be thrown away and I will choose two or three of the strongest females to use as mother plants. I'm preparing to build a proper growroom with wooden baton for the frame and hardboard tacked to it to form the walls. I will have a chamber for mothers and clones which will measure 3 x 3 x 2 ' and a flowering chamber of the same dimensions except it will be 5' tall. The clone and mother chamber will have the lightwing fluoro unit and the flowering room will have a 250w HPS or metal halide. I plan to have 24 clones in the flowering room (each clone to have a 6 inch square space) I know this may sound too many for the area but I'm only growing small plants using the scrog method. The clones will not be topped so they only grow one main bud each and will be forced to flower when they're about 10 inches tall. I will post more pics as the plants get bigger and when I've built my grow-cupboard.
Any comments, hints or tips more than welcome.
