Interesting. I just gauge temperatures by walking in the room, and have never felt the need for a thermometer...but I know my MH's burn hotter than my HPS. I've been using the same 1000W MH bulb for quite some time (a generic Sylvania), and have a Hortilux HPS for flower. So maybe that's why I've noticed such a difference.

Guess it's about time to find me a better quality MH bulb...
