Purple Stems
I got some plants from a fellow patient here in my city and all of of the 6 that I got from him had purple stems. The coloring went away within about 2 days of me putting them in my pots. Was the purple a sign of something bad?

Purple stems can be, but they're also a recessive genetic trait. So its unusual but not bad. However i've heard they can also be the sign of something wrong. However if nothing else is wrong with you plants its probably genetic and fine.

Could be genetic, could be sulfur deficiency. If you notice that the leaves are pale and even the VEINS are reddish, the plant is straight up STARVIN'. Since it went away, I'm going with S-def. Your plants are happier now...

red stem and petioles are usually a symptom of varying temps, and sometimes a phosphorous deficiency ... :smokin:

could just be a temp problem. Ask the bloke you got them from what temp the plants were kept at.

well as "Stinkyattic" mentioned, it's most likely that the plant(s) need sulfur and good way to tell is if the "Purple Steams" are inside the leaf..... Other than that they're healthy as long as you have no other Def Probs....
And yup your doin better if they turned back into Green and started growing again...But hey its always good to be safe and i don't blame you for making a thread about...Keep up the good grow man...

well honestly, i learned purple stems sometimes dont mean shit, it can be the strain or it can mean you have a strong plant, now of course like always "SOMEBODY" is going to disagree but when it boils down to it, NOBODY IS A PRO, NOOOOBODDDY..I dont give a shit how many studies and labs you've been thru,..Shit im far from it
But like i said "IT CAN BE A SULFUR D" Keyword people "CAN"....but the problem was solved so no need to argue bout it and i'll check out the new thread buddy...
