The Greenhouse EFFECT
Hello councillors,
I am germinating a seed and have the 8" D by 7" deep bucket covered with saran wrap. I am using two regular household flood lights directly and directly shinging on the plant and on tin foil surrounding the area. This is making it kinda hot. The climate inside the greenhouse is 35.1C and 48% relative humidity. Is this gonna bake my seed? Once it sprouts i'll definitely make it cooler, but will it sprout under this climate?
Thanks for the help guys and girls.Jibo Reviewed by Jibo on . The Greenhouse EFFECT Hello councillors, I am germinating a seed and have the 8" D by 7" deep bucket covered with saran wrap. LOL get that foil OUT!!!! u cant use tin foil ur gonna have Fryed bud LOL. look dude, just paint the walls around it white, or buy Myler, can be got from www.growell.co.uk look under accessorys and myler, its SPECIAL reflective sheet, you see foil deflects heat, and makes hot spot and it will for sure burn ur plant alive. the lights im guessing the £5:99 spot lights 500 Watts from B&Q? they get VERY hot. make sure u dont make a fire burn ur house down dude. u can buy lights from that site i posted too. in fact they sell from feed to carbon filters to worm castings to hydros hell is there anything on that site they dont sell? apart from seeds. i got many things from them i live UK and they deliver within like 2 days!
good luck

you could also go to a camping supply store and get some emergency blankets... I have learned recently that they are your friend as well....(84% light reflection and cheap as hell $2.00 US)
and I agree- get rid of the spots...go with multiple compact fluorescents or tube fl... for vegging on a budget....if you flower with these address your need for red spectrum fluorescent lights as well( flowering needs this light spectrum for dense sticks flowering- remember UV is a flowers friend) Hope it turns out 4 ya...peace

Emergency blankets, never heard that one before. thx.
Kamizakedude, no the lights are only 100W each, and it is generally cool outside the greenhouse. I have a fan running pointed on a 6" vent towards the outside of my house.
