Hallucinogenic drug from the hemp plants, the Cannabis sativa, which is also called Indian hemp. The hemp, an annual nettle, can reach as high as 3 meters, while hemp used for hashish production are kept low in human height. The plant are distinctly male and female, and both have flowers. They flower from June to October.
Hemp grows on most parts of the world. But most hashish comes from The Middle East, North Africa, Pakistan,Afganistan, Asia or Southern Asia.
Hashish is the most potent form of cannabis(marijuana). Hashish consists of the THC-rich resinous material of the cannabis plant, which is collected,dried,and then compressed into variety of forms, such as Bricks,Balls,Slabs,and Bars. Hash is made from resin which is extracted from the flower clusters and the top leaves of the marijuana plant. Hashish does not include plant material such as leaves,stems and seed which causes marijuana to be less potent then hashish. This is not to say that hashish is always stronger or of higher quality then marijuana, certain strains of high quality marijuana may be more potent then certain strains of low quality hashish.
There are two methods of collecting hashish from the marijuana plant, that have been used for centuries.

Method one is called sieving. The pollem(not pollen) is obtained from marijuana by drying and cooling the plants and then sieving through a series of sieves until all that remains is very fine and yellow resinous powder. This powder is compressed and heated to allow the resins to melt and stick together forming blocks. This resin is then compressed into blocks and sealed with cellophane or cloth. Pollem can be smoked as it is, but taste and effects change when it processed. The quality of the pollem hash depends on the quality of the plants used and sieving and pressing procedures.
This is the preferred method of collection in Morocco where the plant is dried and then endlessly sieved until only the finest powder remains.


Method two is called rubbing. The method used in Southern Asia involves rubbing the living flowers of the cannabis plants with hands, a leather apron or other implements. THe aim is to get the soft and sticky resins to dtick to a surface which can be taken somewhere to be processed a collated.
These are then scraped off the skin or leather and rolled into lumps of various sizes and compressed into blocks. The colour is usually dark-brown to black on the surface and lighter on the interior-air contacts makes this hash go darker in colour. The consistency is normally soft and a lump can be moulde into varios shapes or sausages.
This is the preferred method in the Himalayas and other parts of Asia.
The quality of rub hash depends on the quality of the plants used, the gathering method and the manner of processing.

Hashish is typically smoked in a pipe or water pipe, often combined with marijuana.

hey res & dog that stuff is not hash, and i think he was asking what hash was, so don't confuse him. i wouldn't want him trying to make some and put a bunch of crap in it thinking that's how to make the stuff. and man if thats in the hash where your from i wouldn't touch the stuff. unfortunatly, hash is not avalable to buy where i'm from, but i get to make my own each year after harvest and i shurly don't put that stuff in it.

Yups, fair point, Dylan...but 'Hash' is a universal term, dude - you know what proper hash is..but on the street 'Soap' (another common name) is sold as 'hash'...and the list above, is what was found in the average sample.

Proper hash - I've only ever had it once or twice - is the shit lol...but the stuff we usually get here, has been 'touched' by too many hands....therefore, capitalism comes into play ...the BASTARDS!!!
