understanding flowering times for diffrent strains

New to growing I had got some white rhino and cyber crystal seeds have already germinated and plants growing good for the first week, I read on each strain and they both said flowering 8-9 weeks, Does that mean it will be done in 8-9 weeks or is that when i start 12 on 12 off? And also i bought some organic potting soil from walmart does anyone have any thought if that is a good choice of soil or not??

wow people are lazy now adays.or impatient or spoiled whatever it is its pretty sad.A little effort on your part and you could find(read) the answers to all your questions.it really wouldn't take long at all.know what else is sad?I'm still gonna help ya out,why,because i'm bored...anyway.flowering times are how long it takes to flower once you flip your lights to 12/12.and your dirt probably sucks but it will also probably work.add some perlite to it and it will probably work better.from now on before you post simple questions like this will you please read a lot first then ask.it will make you look less like a spoiled little kid and therefore you will be better respected.thanks and you're welcome

Thanks for helping me out, I have read alot of threads on what i need to do and get, The problem for me is understanding it all, sorry been blown up too many times have TBI soo my brain has a hard time keeping up with info.

Screw what they say the flowering time is, everyone i know who is experienced says those are rough estimates.

By a handscope (11$ at radio shack) and check the trichomes. They tell you when to harvest best

as already stated, get the Radio Shack mini-microscope, or at least a 30x magnifying glass, and watch your trichomes to determine harvest window ... there are a couple 'stickies' regarding trichomes, (in the Basic Growing section, if I remember right) ... if a breeder claims 8-9 weeks, anticipate 9 weeks, at best ... 'finish time' is frequently exaggerated ... if the strain claims 8 weeks finishing, that means it will need 8 weeks under 12/12 lighting schedule ... as for soil, use a well-draining soil, avoiding peatmoss, as it is acidic (almost every soil has at least some peat, try to find one with the least) ... add about 20% Perlite to most any soil mix ... and, your original questions weren't out of line ... in fact, although they have been covered elsewhere, they're not all that frequent of a question ... the "where can I buy seeds, and will they ship to the USA?" questions are the worst :wtf: ... those must get asked at least 3-4 times every day, by people too lazy to read ... good luck with your crop ... :jointsmile:
