I'm a part-time lab tech in one of the top academic marine biology labs in the country, along with being a biology major, environmental studies minor, heading to get a phd in the near future. There are many people on this site who are smart enough to see through many of your less thought provoking posts. Dude. The 3 things you listed had nothing to do with "talking down" to anybody. Wtf? Have you ever been to any other message boards? I suggest you do that and then maybe you'll realize that even the meanest posters on this board would be nice guys anywhere else.
