Notre Dame Done? Or Beginning of a Dynasty
Next year may be the deciding year for Weis and ND, but they gave him a 10 year extension after not really accomplishing anything, so ND will be stuck with him for a while no matter how it turns out.
I really don't like the idea of bringing NFL assistants down to be the head coaches of college football teams. Most, not all, but most of those coaches view college football as semi retirement. Truth be told, college football is a lot more work than the pros. The pros have a draft. You want a guy, you pick him. Other than getting the contract worked out which the coach doesn't have a whole lot to do with anyway, there's very little that a head coach has to do to build the team he wants. In college, you have to get out there and recruit your ass off. ND may have the #1 rated recruiting class right now, but there are a lot of biases that go into those rankings.
ND is very high up there on my list of teams I love to hate. And this season is the reason why. ND is going to win 1 game this year, but they'll be in all of the preseason polls for next year.smokin tiger Reviewed by smokin tiger on . Notre Dame Done?
