Hey all, first time poster, new reader here.

Well, it happened when I was about 14 I would say. I walked into my mom's bedroom and saw a bunch of her plants hanging upside down in the closet and they looked dead to my eye. I kind of freaked out and ran to tell my neighbor across the street about what I saw. Sure enough as soon as my mom returned home, my neighbor flags her down real quick and tells her, and from that day on I had some kind of inclination as to what happened.

Then a few years later, I'm about 17 at this point. My mother takes a trip to British Columbia to visit a family member and ends up bringing home about 2 pounds of some real nice stuff. I walked into her room to ask her something, and ended up seeing all of that bagged up. She told me all about marijuana, and a bunch of other things she deemed were necessary on that day. I was shocked to say the least. One day she told me.."If you ever want to smoke, I want you to try it with me first." I wasn't sure if this was a very touching moment, or a very awkward one. As it turns out, I did smoke for the first time with her, and later found out from my father that he felt the same way, and would've wanted me to smoke with him first.

Since that day I was able to smoke around the house, or do pretty much anything so long as I was responsible. I look back on it now and still find it very strange to think about. Well, sorry if this post is a little long but I wonder if anyone else has a similar experience to share?

my dad smokes I didnt stop when he caught me he lied to me and said he quit i still didnt believe him i kept smoking at the young age of 14 and wouldnt stop and no one could make me he turned into an asshole started blaming me for shit and was just a complete ass but still smoked and i knew it and he lied to me and would make me look like the bad guy in front of my sister who was 12 at the time saying that i fuck up everything in the family i got sick of his bullshit ran away at 15 and never came back.... I wish my story was more like yours but hey shit happens I'm happy foryou i wish i could had had that kind of relationship with my mom and dad

you're lucky to have an open dialogue with your parents - most people don't.

my mom, along with my step dad, has been telling me why she thinks marijuana should be legalized for the past few years. within the past year i've been smoking more, and both of my parents are ok with it (as long as i'm responsible of course)

now, even though i'm 18 my father still denies that he smokes. i know he does it, but he just won't tell me. i'm unsure of what his reaction would be if he found out. then again, he does live on the other side of the country i only see him 3 times a year.
