    First grow log

This is my first indoor grow, its in an attic and its pretty much thrown together. i ran out of money and rescources so this is pretty much how its gonna be for the next while. Theres no fan and the ventilation is coming from the many gaps in the plastic and that squashed flexihose u see in the picture anyway only time will tell how it goes. the seeds are sensi's indoor mix which is a mix of all their indoor strains (Shiva shanti, hindu kush, afghani, maple leaf indica, first lady, four way, mothers finest, big bud, silver haze, black domina jack flash, NL, hash plant and more). the pack said 25 seeds but there were 37 when i counted. id reccomend these seeds to any hobby grower. its a 700w digi and the soil is non-peat based multi purpose compost with 40% vermiculite and 20% perlite.

What are the temps in the attic?

If it is Fall and a mild climate where you live you should be ok during lights on. But for lights out you may need a space heater if it gets cold.

too much light for seedlings mate. germinate and set them off before cranking up the lumens.. even a lil desklamp with a 6400K (think) natural daylight energy saving buld will do until the show some leaves... 700w could kill em as soon as the emerge.. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't risk it

No he is ok as long as the light is not to close, never heard of a 700w though. I have a 600w and use it from start to finish.
With a 600w you need to maintain a 20" distance from lamp to top of plant if not then you will fry the tops.

sorry it is a 600w. I put my hand just above the seedlings and its not too hot...I think. they have their first set of true leaves already and they dont seem to be suffering (to my untrained eye). The temp in the room ranges from 65-75F. Night temps at the moment are pretty mild but as the winter sets in i'll just have the lights on at night which should provide enough heat. that 20 inch distance thing is a bit of a worry also. height is restricted enough already

Two weeks later and things are lookin ok. there are some major temp fluctuations (from 40-75F) which is slowing the growth but most of the plants are looking healthy. Two of the plants are looking sick and others are going a bit purple at the petioles and uner the leaf. One is yellow/green, very scrawny and its leaf tips are going brown and curling downwards. The other is almost an ivy dark green with rigid leaves and extremely stunted also. Any advice, suggestions appreciatedon
. ive also got ten smaller LR2 seedlings on the go, hopefully theyll be flowering at the same time as the rest so i can get some nice crosses going

if head room is an issue try LST or topping the plant that will make it so the main cola wont shoot right into the light. That temp range is whats killing them. I left the heat off and my house got down to 60 and I could see the slight effect on my plants. cant immagine the harm it does to seedlings.

i dont think low temps will kill a weed plant, it'll just slow the growth. I think i tipped ash into one of the pots when they were smaller, maybe that effected pH or minerals or something. Ye im gonna LST everything. Just gonna breed the LR's for seed and make hash out of them. Cant wait to harvest, i just hope the frost holds off:smokin:

One week later they seem to be growing a lot faster. Ive started feeding them seaweed extract fert and i add a tiny bit of a C02 tab into the water. when i was in the shop getting the mylar i asked the guy in the shop how much was a pack of C02 tabs and he just said "theyre pretty expensive but take a few if u want" so i got a load of free tabs and he knocked of â?¬5 off the price of the myalr:thumbsup:. I also bought myself an oscillating fan and a pc fan which i hooked up to an old SNES adaptor. All i need now is a space heater. The LR2 seedlings are doing pretty good also, showing no stress from the cold so far and the temps are getting pretty close to freezing. I can only have the HPS on 12 hrs a day cos the power bill came and it was pretty high so i have a daylight bulb (40W i think) on 24 hrs which hpoefully will keep them from flowering even it doesnt enduce any growth.
