my fathers an alchoholic also...and hes getting a double bypass on his heart tomorrow...i mean its not the same situation...but it just came up today when i seen him laying there in the hospital bed...ive never loved my father and to see him laying there...it kills u inside man...no matter what

you can only see them and love them for who they are, parents aren't going to change unless it's on there accord, alchoholism runs in my family, and realizing that helps me to be careful, just look at everything in life as it's trying to teach you something and you'll come out on top. as for going to see your dad, you don't want to make bad memories so just try to be reasonable w/ him, or maybe he's the one who needs and wants to do the talking, just see where it goes and flow w/ it, good luck
