Hi Jerry,
No that's not the kind. This is a relatively new security light I bought at HD. You can see it here:

100W CFL Security Light

It's working well, but as mentioned I wanted to find a warm white bulb for flowering and I have not been able to. All the bulbs I find are generally 5000k and up.... and besides, they also all have built-in ballast... mine does not, unless I'm misunderstanding something. The wire goes to a little round box "the base" and then on to the actual reflector/fixture.
So I'm looking for: ~2700k, 100w, CFL, without ballast.

Or am I wasting my time since I do have another 100w worth of 2700k lighting on the corners of the grow (4x23w warm white cfl's).
Bulster Reviewed by Bulster on . "Lights Of America" question... So I am using a 100W CFL "lights of america" Fluorex yard light for vegging that looks like it has a separate ballast. (Yes I'm cheap, but it's working fine) Now that I'm in flower I was going to replace it with a warm white since the current bulb is 6500 Kelvin. Questions: 1. Do they make a warm white (2700k) version? (I can't find one) 2. If not, is the ballast compatible with a different brand? What brand? Any brand without a built-in ballast? 3. Since during flowering I have Rating: 5
