The " AK" doesn't refer to the abreviation for Alaska- It's from " Avtomat Kalashnikova", the original source of the " Avtomat Kalashnikova obraztsa 1947 goda", or AK-47. ( Also called by aficianados the "Kalishnikov rifle"- really, it's the only choice if you want an assault rifle that's going to work.
