just harvested my first crop, but........
I find it EASIER to trim a plant that is newly-harvested and therefore retains turgidity. Then when it's dry enough to put in jars, trim off any ugly bits sticking out. This is more a manicure for a small-scale grower who has fewer plants to trim.
