I believe you cut the branches off the plant(which im sure u already did), then you remove the fan leafs(pretty sure thats what they are called) then you dry it out and then trim it all.... If im wrong please correct me, Thats just how I thought it was done..

ok thanks systrex, i did cut the branches off and all the fan leaves, but i tried to trim the rest of it but it was taking too damn long. so i just had to ask if there was an easier way like letting it dry out first.:smokin:

Some trim right away and some say after the branch and fan leaves hang um and wait a few weeks. Still if you have nice big healthy plants it is going to take awhile. Look at it this way, the bigger the plant, the longer to trim, the more to smoke...

Ya, it really depends on personal preference.

I usually trim frash off the plant, but this year I had a plant come down and didn't trim for a week. The results were about the same, time wise, but the ones I trimed a week after drying ended up having more leaf on them when I was done. I still got the majority, but the smaller leaves were wrapped around the buds making it difficult to cut them.

I find it EASIER to trim a plant that is newly-harvested and therefore retains turgidity. Then when it's dry enough to put in jars, trim off any ugly bits sticking out. This is more a manicure for a small-scale grower who has fewer plants to trim.

I like to sit by a table smoke a dubbie with shears in hand go branch by branch, trimming very well, take your time, no rush remember this is what you waited for a long time to do,I will hang for about a week and clip buds right into jars for curing to me this is the fun part.

it does take a long time. for me, fan leaves first of course, then any of the smaller leaves that are accesible at the stems. let dry for a couple of days and pull off brown leaves and trim the tips of the rest. after that, it is what it is.
