Lady bugs work, praying mantids work, neem oil spray works for prevention, and even organic pepper, peroxide, alcohol, and water works. Neem is my favorite because you also avoid mold and fungus as well.

Use Neem Oil!!!!!!!! I can tell you from having an infestation, that from veg through the last 2 weeks of flowering will take care of them! Neem oil is for breaking the lifecycle of the mites. No females for the males and visa versa, you break the cycle and beat the bastards! Good preventive medicine, too!

    Spider mites!!!

I got some Hot Shot No Pest Strips from Lowes as a preventative measure and I've had no bugs in my grow room, even in my spider infested basement.

the fact your basement is infested with spiders may also be playing a part in the absences of bugs :-p seeing as how..you know spiders eat bugs and all :-p

:thumbsup:Here's a pic of the pest strips. I've been using these for close to a year. They are the bomb!!! No pun intended... They will help matters as far as control. But,I would still use the neem oil. The mites can't penetrate the membranes of the leaves and you won't really tell there is a mite issue until you fire up those HPS's.Pest free plants are happy plants!!!!!!!

I can attest to how well the no pest strips work.Opie Nutts has posted on many threads singing the praises of these things.Well I am six weeks into flowering and at five weeks I put on of these in my room and its already out there.Kilt em' dead, every last one of the damn little buggers.I also noticed that the eggs (not all,but many)had turned brown, made me smile.Big thumbs up to Opie and everyone else on these boards that recommended the no pest strips.Take care,be well and most of all be safe.
