What is the definitive item of your home decor?
And does it suit your personality? How?
The oddest thing in my house is my Tiki bar. I don't actually USE it as a bar per se, but I've been collecting all those ceramic cocktail mugs at flea markets and tag sales since I was about 19. I'm a WICKED flea market junkie. I ended up with a total glut of the things when my friends started giving them to me as gifts, and found this bamboo thing at a discount store while I was house-hunting... couldn't resist... Shown is about 1/3 of my collection.
I think it is PERFECT for my personality and really makes guests laugh.stinkyattic Reviewed by stinkyattic on . What is the definitive item of your home decor? And does it suit your personality? How? I really dig maps too. My old dining room was literally wallpapered with the nautical charts of Long Island Sound, all marked up and ratty from my time in the Coast Guard.

stinky thats the best EVER!!
mine is my alpaca llama blanket. my ex-boyfried's father got it for me when he went to Bolivia. It's blue, green, and yellow made out of llama wool. a picture of a llama and a woman with a baby on her back spinning wool, infront of some mountians is dyed into it. it's quite possibly the best blanket ever. it's so nice and soft and warm. it covers my bed and whenever people come into my room the compliment it. it's also in the color theme of my room.

I have this green ceramic dog shaped cookie jar that we have had since I was a little kid. I can still smell the sweet aroma of the homemade peanut butter cookies my mother used to fill it with. I've not put another cookie in him since she passed a few years ago. When I moved to Cali I refused to pack him away (for fear of him getting broken) .. we drove almost 3,000 miles with him sitting right on the floor next to my feet so I could keep an eye on him.
He now sits on a counter in my kitchen .. keeping watch so to speak. He was the one thing I insisted on keeping when I had to clean out my mom's apartment .. isnt it strange the things you value? There were so many other much more monetarily valuable items I could have held on to, but it hurt too much. But I knew there was no way I could let him go.
Dont know if I'll ever bring myself to fill him up with cookies again, but I sure do love the memories he brings back.
