Jesus wants an army, and the bible is the book of war

No. The 1st set of laws was to guide a nation to survive in this world and stay around to produce a nation his son could be born into. If Jesus was just born and DID NOT have a nation waiting for him, do you think many would follow Jesus? The Nation of israel Was raised and given Laws for this purpose to have Jesus be Born into the Nation. Jesus came to earth to Die, that was his point he was dieing to wash all mankind of Adams Sin. Adam was a perfect human and Gave his life away when he rebeled. Every one of us was born from Adam and Thus Sinful. Every human death can not add up to Adams Death (a perfect human) So Jesus (another perfect Human)Was needed to come down to Die for Mankind.

Jesus perfect life and death was an exchange for mankinds Sins. Like the Sacrafices the people of israel were commanded by Law to do, Thoses were in fact a simbol of Jesus Dieing for all mankinds sins, so once Jesus Died they no longer needed to offer up animals for there sins sence Jesus died for all mankinds perfectly.

I've made an argument with you in a new thread, Krogith, as to avoid derailing this thread off topic.

40oz'er, the bible is there for all to interpet. Basically however you want too. I'm sure you have seen alot of those people on TV telling their version. Most of them just want your money not your faith, except your faiththat they will do "WONDERFUL" thing with your money. My advise. Read the whole book. Then reflect.

sounds like good teachings to me name 1 child that was no good as a kid and never listened to there parents and did evil things and go against everything the parents said that was right to do grow up and be anything good?? seems like theres 1 in every family seems like theres always 1 good one and 1 bad one in every family so going by those teachings would this world not be a much more peaceful place??? and i would bet people like gacy, dahmer, son of sam to name a few but u know they were evil as kids too.

At least the Koran says all religions of abraham (Jews, Muslims, Christians) will be accepted into the kingdom of heaven. Unlike the bible. This is also interesting because it seems like more people (at least in the USA) see the Koran as preaching more violence and intolerance for other religions than the bible.
well the koran also says that if someone won't convert to spill there blood so i don't see how it's any more peaceful

If a man would follow, today, the teachings of the Old Testament, he would be a criminal. If he would follow strictly the teachings of the New, he would be insane.
    thats how i see it

religion is a belief. No matter what religion you chose to belief in. You have to remember that. So it really is "what you believe". Life really is to short to hate people that don't fall into your "belief patterns". I say to each there own. only time will tell.

he Bible is nonsense in a thousand different scientific ways.

    * Man did not come from a handful of dust through some mythological being. Man evolved from other species like every other living thing has for hundreds of millions of years.

    * The Bible talks about a world-wide flood that covered earth in 5.5 miles of water and killed everything, yet we know it never happened. That is clear from the archeolgical record.

    * There was no tower of Babble.

Ask yourself this simple question: Why, when you read the Bible, are you not left in awe? Why doesn't a book written by an omniscient being leave you with a sense of wonder and amazement? If you are reading a book written by the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving creator of the universe, wouldn't you expect to be stunned by the brilliance, the clarity and the wisdom of the author? Would you not expect each new page to intoxicate you with its incredible prose and its spectacular insight? Wouldn't you expect the author to tell us things that scientists have not been able to discover yet?

Yet, when we open the Bible and actually read it, we find it is nothing like that at all. Instead of leaving us in awe, it leaves us dumbfounded by all of the nonsense and backwardness that it contains. If you would look at the Bible fresh, and read what it actually says, you find that the Bible is ridiculous. The examples shown above barely scratch the surface of the Bible's numerous problems. If we are honest with ourselves, it is obvious that an "all-knowing" God had absolutely nothing to do with this book.

The Bible is a book written thousands of years ago by primitive men. A book that advocates senseless murder, slavery and the oppression of women has no place in our society today. It is time for us to recognize this simple fact.

When the Earth was formed, after meteorites pounded the surface, the Earth was once a water-world.

At least, that's what the History Channel said, when it was describing how the Earth formed. It was recently, some others may have seen it.
