Yes, in a way. Just not at an extreme rate.

The plant will eventually begin to lose some of its fan leaves during the flower cycle because it no longer requires as much light. But only the plant can determine when it doesn't need the light any more. Basically at the end of flowering it will die.

However, the leaves will not get crispy or brown, they will simply turn yellow and fall off. If they become brown and crispy it's usually a sign of a deficiency or fert-burn.

That's the general idea of it anyway.
