if its a forced air vent you can close it off completely or partially. Just try to close it partially and if its still an issue put a fan next to it blowing the heat away.

My plant is located in my room, next to the register(vent), and cant be moved to another location in the room. would this hurt my gal when it comes on? should i tape some cardboard over it?
