Umm, this doesn't make any sense, are you saying you don't vote because if you did you would only vote for who the media tells you too? Last I checked the media is pretty biased against Ron Paul but that didn't stop me from changing parties so I can vote for him in the primaries.

But the most important thing isn't just voting, that is probably the least effective method of supporting your candidate, the most effective method is getting active in their campaign, or donating money. Without money, they can't get the advertising they need to draw in more supporters, the media just falls into place once they reach a certain point. Hopefully after November 5th Ron Paul will escape from the "no chance in hell" position the media has put him into, (with their own biased voting polls I might add)

we cant just get a pot friendly pres. to legalize pot. we also need to change the house and senate votes also. ultimately its going to be them who decides. if bush were to say pot were legal, doesnt mean we could do it. it would still have to pass through congress to change the laws against it right now. to legalize it, your going to need start small, get active in your community, work your way up to the state level, and then go to the national level with a pro pot cannidate. if the states are for it, then the government will be for it.

^But if we could actually get a leader to lead this country in the right direction, that president could lead this country to legalization and get all the support he needs. The problem is, few people vote for true leaders, they vote for the worthless fakes created by the political machine. Ron Paul is a true leader, I've found myself 2nd thinking some of my own views after hearing him talk about those issues.

Believe me, I hear you. The problem is the amount of people it would take, to make a substantial impact, is unattainable. Too many folks, with too much money, would NEVER stop voting. I'm afraid a revolutionary idea like this, would be snubbed as a mere unpleasent gesture, as we were persecuted further.
We've got a better chance at infiltrating 'their' system, with 'one of us', and making our changes from 'inside', than to further distinguish ourselves as 'the bad guy'.

....and how many members of our current crop of political animals do you think started out with such high ideals, only to find that it was the system that changed them? politics has been described as the fine art of compromise and one of the first things surrendered in the process seems to be one's principles. caught up in the game, the players seem to lose sight of any goal but attaining more power. too much is never enough and you can never have too much, all in the name of those ideals that were shed to acquire that power in the first place.

the road to power is paved with discarded integrity and populated by murderers and thieves. how can any traveler not be corrupted by such an atmosphere? i'm sure that many of washington's political denizens believe they are still fighting the good fight, as they sell the last of their souls for one more day on the hill.

I usually stay out of the political forum, but I have to add my two cents here.

    1. Martin Luther King Jr. started out with very little support. Folks didn't believe that true black freedom would EVER be attained. Further, they told him he'd never get equal treatment without the use of force. Well.....here we are. We celebrate the life of the man who is credited more than anyone else, with attaining civil rights for all minorities.

    2. The Vietnam war ... Turbulent times for sure. But why did we pull out of Vietnam? Believe it or not it had to do mainly with activism. The shootings at Kent State. The riots at U.C. Berkeley. It all played a part. If we really wanna make a change we have to ORGANIZE ourselves into groups like this:

I don't know which of the phony bastards I'll vote for, but I will NOT be making a decision of that importance, on whether or not they support marijuana ... the world's existence could literally depend on who is the next President, regardless of your personal politics ... I smoked pot for a lotta years, regardless of who was my President, I just don't see the importance in it ... :smokin:

Ron Paul is our only hope for legalization because he is challenging the establishment on many fronts and without that aspect, it isn't going to happen. He is the only candidate saying "Get the government out of our lives!" and has plans to do this! Hell, under a Paul presidency I'll have plenty of money for MJ since it would be legalized and I don't have to pay income tax anymore since he did away with that, and the inflation tax is gone after we go back to the gold standard and stop the diabolical federal reserve, a private cabal running our economy into the ground and of which is neither Federal nor a Reserve (watch Aaron Russo's Freedom to Fascism).
Ron Paul is the ONLY choice! Don't let the media pick your candidate. For all you disenfranchised folks, this is the candidate for you. Pro-peace, Pro-civil liberties, Pro-America! Check him out!
