    Anyone make their own pieces?

I'm an apprentice auto mechanic, so I'm always working with my hands. Lately I've been screwing around with different shit trying to make pipes or bongs out of them. Anyone else to this? For instance, I was trying to perfect a piece made out of a car's fuel rail, with 4 different places to put a bowl. But it broke . But now I'm working on making discreet stuff, such as an innocent-looking exhaust manifold or baseball bat.....

forgive me but apprentice auto mechanic thats funny. i been turnin wrenches goin on 30 years.
i speciaize in trannys and honda makes tubes in there trannys with built in sreens. there kinda small but make good one hitters. also them sockets you cant find a use for, well stick a screen down in a clean one and toke away. then you can just toss it in your tool box and it just disappars among the rest of your tools. for instance that 11mm deep 1/4 drive. theres all kinds agood stuff just layin around, be creative. oh and under no circumstance use copper.

No copper. No aluminum. Nothing that has been exposed to any solvents or hydrocarbons (fuel line parts are OUT).

I make my own pieces. I've never bought a bong for myself, only as gifts, and now I just MAKE the gift ones. Most headshops carry spare parts to repair or build smoking devices; go poke around and see if there is anything that catches your eye as being compatible with an item you already have laying around the house.

Ummm...most of the bowls you get for bongs and such in a head shop are aluminium, the rest are brass (Zinc and Copper).

Aluminium and copper are not bad things for bowls, and after they get a little resin coating on them....it won't matter anyway.

I never thought of that. A side feed fuel rail could be used as a bowl for a bong.....
